MCA Extends Deadline for Filing Annual Returns for FY 2024–25

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has announced an extension for the filing of annual returns and financial statements for the financial year 2024-25. Companies can now complete their annual filings until December 31, 2025, without incurring any additional fees. This relaxation has been provided in light of the deployment of new e-Forms on the MCA-21 Version 3 portal, and to give companies adequate time to familiarize themselves with the new filing process. The revised e-forms for which the relaxation is applicable include MGT-7, MGT-7A, AOC-4, AOC-4 CFS, AOC-4 NBFC (Ind AS), AOC-4 CFS NBFC (Ind AS), and AOC-4 (XBRL). However, the MCA has clarified that this extension does not apply to the statutory deadline for holding Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
