Over 100 PMIS Interns to Join MCA’s 79th I-Day Celebrations

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) will welcome over 100 Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) interns from across India as special guests for the 79th Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi.

These interns will participate in a three-day immersion programme from August 14 to 16, 2025, designed to provide them with an enriching and holistic experience. On August 14, the MCA will host a special interaction with Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra and MCA Secretary Deepti Gaur Mukerjee.

The participating interns—referred to as young changemakers—are currently placed with top Indian companies across multiple sectors. This initiative is a significant milestone in the pilot phase of PMIS, launched in October 2024, which has so far partnered with more than 350 leading companies and drawn participation from youth in all 36 states and Union territories.

A major highlight will be the launch of a Digital Compendium, featuring 79 inspiring stories from interns across India, capturing their journeys of growth, learning, and impact.

PMIS aims to enhance youth employability by bridging the gap between academic knowledge and workplace readiness. It also promotes entrepreneurial thinking by providing first-hand exposure to business operations and innovations.

During the interaction, interns will share experiences related to skill development, professional adaptation, and contributions to their organisations. The MCA views this engagement as an important opportunity to gather feedback and insights that will shape the future of PMIS.
